BASIC INFORMATION
Accessibility: The village of Zalaújlak lie 17 km north-east of Nagykanizsa, 9 km from the new Balaton road. Until the 1942 construction of a paved road, the settlement was rather isolated.
Characteristics: The name of the village was first mentioned in written documents in 1259. During the Turkish occupation, the village was attacked several times. The level of infrastructure is sufficiently high: 100% of the households have piped water, 26% telephone, 20% of the roads are paved. The number of unemployed is 12. The village has a memorial house and a library. The most important task of the village is road construction.
